About Silyxa

Silyxa is an independent website that helps UK employees see what their pay really means before they make a decision.

Who it's for

Silyxa is for employees weighing up a real choice, such as accepting a part-time job, changing how they save into a pension, or agreeing to extra shifts. Each calculator starts from your own situation and shows what reaches your bank account.

Why it exists

In November 2026 we read 11 UK pay calculator pages before building anything. Several gave only a gross figure. Some left out Scotland or student loans, one needed an email address to send your results, and one was still labelled with the previous tax year's rates. Published methods for term-time pay didn't even agree with each other.

So we set out to build tools that handle those details, show their working and keep your figures private.

Who makes it

Silyxa is a small independent project. It isn't a firm of accountants, a bank or a pension provider, and it doesn't sell financial products. We aren't tax advisers or regulated financial advisers, and nothing here is personal advice.

We don't put a personal byline on our calculators, and we'd rather say so than invent an expert. What you can judge us on is the work, because every method and source is open for you to check.

How it's made

How we keep it up to date

The figures use 2026/27 rates, last checked on 4 November 2026. Tax rates usually change on 6 April, so we update the calculators for each new tax year and when the rules change. Any changes are listed on our method page.

What we can't do

A calculator can't know everything about you. Tax codes, benefits, second jobs and your contract can all change the answer. For a decision that matters, check the result against your payslip and contract, or speak to a regulated adviser. Our terms of use explain this in full.

Your privacy

The calculators run in your browser, so the figures you type aren't sent to us. There are no accounts or email gates. Our privacy page has the details.

How it's paid for

The site is free to use and carries no ads today. We may add clearly labelled advertising later to cover its costs, and we'll keep ads away from the calculators' inputs and results. Advertisers will have no say over our figures.

Spotted a mistake?

We'd like to fix it quickly. We're setting up a corrections address, and it will be listed here soon.
