Editorial policy
This page explains how our calculators and guides are made, so you can judge how far to rely on them.
Who is responsible
Silyxa is run by Webtify, based in New Delhi, India. We're responsible for everything published here. We don't use personal bylines, and we won't invent an author or claim expertise we don't have. We aren't regulated advisers, and no regulated tax or financial adviser has reviewed this site.
How we choose what to cover
We start from real questions people in the UK ask about their pay and costs. Before building a calculator, we look at what's already available and where it falls short. We only publish a tool if it can help with a real decision.
How we research
- Official sources first. Rates and rules come from GOV.UK and Acas.
- Sources are shown. Each calculator page lists its sources, and our method page lists them all.
- Limits are stated. We say what each calculator assumes and what it doesn't cover.
How we check our work
Each calculation runs through 92 automated checks before it goes live. They compare results with hand-worked figures and published examples, and they test awkward inputs. Nothing is published if a check fails.
How we keep it up to date
Tax rates usually change on 6 April, so we update for each new tax year and when the rules change. Each calculator shows the tax year it uses and when its rates were last checked. Changes to figures or methods are recorded on our method page.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, email hello@silyxa.com with the page and the figures you used. We'll check it against the official source. If we got it wrong, we'll fix it and record any change to our figures or methods.
Independence and money
The site is free and carries no ads today. We don't take payment to include, rank or recommend anything, and we don't use affiliate links. If we add advertising, it will be clearly labelled, and advertisers will have no say over our figures.
What we won't do
- Give personal financial, tax or legal advice.
- Make up reviews, credentials or expert quotes.
- Ask for your name or email address to show a result.
